The snow is pretty but, after the snow? Still pretty depending on where you are looking. The roads, the cars… the shine. The sides of the roads, the salt and sand accumulating everywhere. The dried white everywhere.
A new device, the joy of unwrapping and setting it up for the first time. The learning about its new features, feeling the new form, not seeing scratches all around it. I enjoy when that shine is gone, when the device shows use and age and wear and tear. It proves that it’s being/been used, and was worth it.
The new guy. The guy who accomplished some good things in his previous workplace and who people are hopeful that he’ll replicate the successes here. The shine is gone… substance, wear and tear… prove that it was worth it.
